What are non-surgical treatment options?

Most patients who see a neurosurgeon for a spinal disease will not need surgery.  Most of the time, neurosurgeons can guide a treatment plan to improve the spine health, and these options may include these common treatments:

If I do not have surgery, who will monitor and treat my pain?

Non-Surgical treatment of spinal pain are generally treated by non-surgical experts called Physiatrists, commonly referred to as "pain management" doctors.  Your primary care physician may also opt to provide such services to you, depending on their practice setting.
